I just purchased project aftermath as part of the DRD best of indie package.  It's version 1.20, and I'm running vista 64bit home premium.  I can click on the desktop shortcut and the title window with play, options..., or quit shows up.  I've changed it to every resolution, including my native 1440x900 and pressed play after and before each change, and the game still won't launch after I press play.  The only thing that happens is that the window closes, and no active applications in my task manager show up.  I can keep clicking the shortcut, pressing play and waiting all day long and nothing will happen.

Hi.

First off, huge apologies for this - I discovered this issue yesterday but haven't yet had chance to fix and release a patch. What happened is between the time I made the original version 1.20 and the special build for D2D, Microsoft released an updated CRT runtime which broke some of the DLLs the game uses. I didn't notice this before sending it off to D2D because it only shows up if the machine it is running on does not have the particular update.

In order to get it working though, you can download this security update from Microsoft and then it all should work:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=766a6af7-ec73-40ff-b072-9112bab119c2&displaylang=en

Like I say though, I'll be releasing a patch as soon as I can that will remove the need to install this Microsoft update.

Holy crap, for a two man team you fellas work aweful quick to make sure your product is the damn best it can be.  I applaud you sir.  If there's ever a time you need some art, I'd be more than happy to chip in to the type of group that treats its customers like this.

Hehe, thanks.

We try to treat our customers like we'd want to be treated as customers, even if that means coding at nearly 9pm on a Sunday Smiley

I've now released patch 1.21. If you start the application as normal, then the launcher should recognise that there is an updated version available and automatically download it for you.

Let me know if there are any more issues.

Keep up the good work!  Timezone differences may mean I don't feel the 9pm coding crunch, but the results are well appreciated.  Next game you guys put out for pc I'll be more than happy to shell out the cash for, just to keep in line with this kind of support.
